I shift from one face to another,
One emotion to the next,
An addict moving with practiced ease
In the aftermath of my own meltdown
I know how to twist my mind
To match my mouth
I can sing the right words
To play my part
But it grieves You
When I’m not myself,
It grieves You
When all I can entertain is the presence
Of my insecurities, wounds, and others’ words
So as I dance, move
I ask for Your hand
To pull me back to You
A reality in a million, billion fallacies
A billion lies
And You, the only Truth
